I'm Chris Rundell, owner of Advanced Diagnostic Services. I am an A.S.E. L-1 Certified Automotive Technician and
also a Certified Massachusetts Emissions Repair Technician. I have close to 20 years experience in the Automotive
Industry.
In 1996, when the Federal Government mandated that OBDII was the "Law of the Land" for automotive emissions
controls, I realized that this was a turning point in the automotive repair industry. It became very clear that in
order to be a professional technician I had to get myself at the forefront of this new technology. I made it the
mission in my career to educate myself, get every scrap of information out there, so that I could be one of the very
best in my field.
As State and Federal Emissions Standards started to get more strict and many states added emissions testing to
there Vehicle Inspection Programs, I decided to become a part of that "world" too. The qualification and training
process was arduous at best. (If any of you know anything about Automotive Training than you know that very
little is offered that is affordable and its usually conducted after normal business hours) I had to invest a very
large sum of money into the special equipment required, quality scan tool, lab scope, 5 gas analyzer etc.....
I started Advanced Diagnostics because I saw a void in this industry. First, there are still shops and technicians
out there that are in dire need of advanced level technical troubleshooting. Second, and I'm a huge advocate of
A.S.E. Qualifications, most technicians don't have some of the basic diagnostic skills required to repair todays
automobiles. Third, it is a huge inconvenience for shops and their customers, who are having a problem with a
vehicle, to send them to the dealership or a more skilled facility.
